Westside Action Group's (WAG) Endorsement Fuels Medina’s Continued Momentum Surge
SAN BERNARDINO, CA— Keeping up her endorsement winning streak, today San Bernardino City Unified School Board Member Abigail Medina secured the backing of the powerful Westside Action Group (WAG), a predominantly African-American based organization with leaders from all over San Bernardino County who get together to address issues and concerns regarding African-Americans.
A group of men on the West side of San Bernardino came together in 1972 and formed the Black Father’s organization to work together to advocate for youth in the community. This event was the forerunner of WAG. WAG is a proactive organization for African Americans in San Bernardino County in general, but its primary focus is within the city of San Bernardino.
In announcing their support of Medina's Assembly run, Al Garret, President of WAG remarked:
"Westside Action Group (WAG) is proud to stand with Abigail Medina in her campaign for State Assembly. She's been a devoted ally to our organization and to San Bernardino's broader African American community. Moreover, whether it's civil rights, social and economic justice issues, criminal justice reforms or numerous other policies that our members care most about, we know we can count on Abigail Medina to be our champion in Sacramento."
Today's endorsement comes on the heels of news that earlier this week the Inland Counties Stonewall Democratic Club and the Mexican American Bar Association (MABA) PAC had also endorsed Medina's Assembly bid.
