Final Vote Tally Puts Medina at 51.46% in June 7th Election
SAN BERNARDINO, CA -- Infusing her campaign with more momentum, recent election results show that San Bernardino School Board Member Abigail Medina's lead has grown from the initial reports after the June 7th primary election for California's 40th State Assembly District seat. Medina captured a total of 39,583 votes (51.46%) to Steinorth's 37,339 votes (48.54%) -- a sizable 2,244 vote difference.
Upon learning of the new and final results, San Bernardino School Board Member Abigail Medina released the following statement:
"These outstanding results are a testament to the fact that voters want change in the 40th Assembly District. It shows that they're thirsting for a new direction, with new leadership that's focused on helping to lift up working people, tackling the drought, combatting gangs and senseless gun violence, bettering schools and expanding opportunities for poor and middle class families. I look forward to campaigning vigorously in the weeks and months ahead to build on our successes in June 7th to ensure that we win in November."
