SAN BERNARDINO, CA-- Reinforcing her widespread popularity among a diverse cross section of grassroots organizations and activists, today, San Bernardino City Unified School Board Member Abigail Medina received an endorsement from Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA PAC), a statewide women’s group that aims to motivate black women to participate in the political process and boost African American representation in California politics. Yesterday, Medina notably won endorsements from U.S. Representative Loretta Sanchez and the California Federation of Labor.
"We are proud to support Abigail Medina in her campaign for California’s 40th Assembly District,” wrote Hon. Dezie Woods Jones, State President of Black Women Organized for Political Action PAC “Medina has proven herself to be a passionate and effective leader on the San Bernardino School Board and we are confident that she will fight for fair and equitable policies that will empower all California residents in the State Assembly.”
Responding to news of the endorsement, Medina remarked:
“I am honored to have the endorsement of BWOPA PAC. It is imperative that California leaders take steps to engage underrepresented communities in the political process. It’s time that African Americans, Latinos, and other communities of color have a strong voice in politics and the power to influence policies that directly impact their quality of life. I look forward to collaborating with BWOPA to identify new, innovative ways to engage Californians in state politics."
