Medina Gets Decisive Endorsement, Continues Coalescing Wide-Ranging Support Among Working Families
SAN BERNARDINO, CA— Reflecting the continued excitement surrounding her campaign for California State Assembly District 40, today San Bernardino City Unified School Board Member Abigail Medina landed a crucial statewide endorsement from the California School Employees Association.
In a letter sent to the Medina for Assembly campaign, Dave Low, Executive Director of the California School Employees Association wrote:
“Dear Ms. Medina: On behalf of the California School Employees Association (CSEA), AFL-CIO, it is my pleasure to inform you that your candidacy for election to the California State Assembly has been endorsed by this statewide organization.
"CSEA’s endorsement of your candidacy is based upon your support for public education and labor issues of importance to classified employees… As you know, CSEA represents over 237,000 classified employees in California’s public school and community college systems. Our dedicated members serve public education as instructional aides, peace officers, secretaries, groundskeepers, food service, transportation and maintenance personnel as well as in other important classifications. As equal partners in California’s vast public education system, the contributions of classified employees are immeasurable. Our Board of Directors and Political Action for Classified Employees (PACE) Committee join me in sending you the best wishes of CSEA for success in your campaign.”
Significantly, today’s endorsement follows news that the Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO of San Bernardino & Riverside Counties, Community Action Fund of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties and the California Teachers Association all endorsed Medina for Assembly.
